Through partnership with the Madison County Economic Development Authority, the Madison County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution creating the Business League in March 2008. The purpose of the League is to offer the County a unique opportunity to bring a renewed spirit of cooperation and unity between the public and private sectors; thereby, encouraging proper planning for future growth and development.
It is vital to provide the Madison County Economic Development Authority with support to fuel continued success as it strives to implement a program of work, business recruitment, and marketing activity for Madison County.
The Madison County Business League exists to provide additional financing for those initiatives whose costs cannot be supported through public funding.
By serving in this capacity, the Madison County Business League will be the platform by which needed projects will move from the drawing board to reality.
- The Business League serves as a seamless conduit for the flow of information between the private sector and the policy makers in local, county, state and federal government.
- Promote the general economic welfare and development of Madison County, Mississippi
- Aid and assist the Madison County Economic Development Authority with the promotion, development and expansion of business, education, transportation, employment and other common business interests of commercial enterprises in Madison County.
- Work in unity with the Madison County elected officials for the benefit of the community by promoting and increasing employment, business activity, capital investment, overall quality of life and other factors associated with economic development.
- Influence legislation germane to the common interests of business and industry in Madison County.
