Jan Coulter Collins, Executive Director

Jan Coulter Collins

Jan Coulter Collins was named Executive Director of the Madison County Business League & Foundation in April 2009. A native of Pascagoula, MS, Mrs. Collins graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a BS in Marketing. Upon graduation, she entered the executive management training program with McRae’s Department Stores. During her 18 years of employment with McRae’s she held numerous areas of responsibility including area store management and merchandising. As Better Updated Ladies Sportswear Buyer, she had an opportunity to travel to many domestic, European, and Asian markets, where she assisted in designing private label merchandise for Frederick Atkins Wholesale in New York. After her career with McRae’s, she worked with Dillard’s Department Stores in various management positions. Mrs. Collins also had four years of non-profit organization experience with the Madison County Foundation as Executive Assistant from 2004-2008.

Governor Phil Bryant recently reappointed Mrs. Collins to another four year term as the consumer member on the MS Board of Nursing. Mrs. Collins served on the University of Southern Mississippi Foundation Board from 2011-2015 and currently serves on the USM Trent Lott National Center for Economic Development & Entrepreneurship Advisory Board. Ms. Collins was recognized as a MS Top CEO by the Mississippi Business Journal in 2018. Selected as one of Mississippi’s 50 Leading Business Women for 2011-12, she now serves on the 50 LBW Advisory Board. In 2013-2015 she served as chairman of the American Heart Association Circle of Red and continues her advocacy by serving on the AHA Advocacy Committee. She serves as Program Chairman of the Madison Ridgeland Rotary Club and was recently tapped a Paul Harris Fellow. Other community involvement includes membership in the Professional Women’s Association of Jackson, 2012-13 Campaign Cabinet of the United Way of the Capital Area, and Advisory Board member of The Source with BankPlus. Mrs. Collins is a trustee of the Leadership Madison County program, of which she was a graduate of the 2011-2012 class.

Ms. Collins is a member of the Greater Jackson Phi Mu Alumni, Madison County Republican Party, Madison County Republican Women and First Baptist Church in Canton.
