The Madison County Business League & Foundation (MCBL&F) hosted an Education Breakfast at the Madison County Schools district office on Wednesday, March 29, 2017. State Senator Gary Tollison, Chairman of the Senate Education Committee, was the keynote speaker. 1.Election Code Update – Technical updates to the Election Code as well as revisions such as the implementation of a certified poll manager training program; staggering of election commissioners’ terms; reduction in the number of paper ballots required to be printed and machines to be used; shortening of the timeline for political committees to file statements of organization to forty-eight hours (48) after receiving or spending funds; increasing transparency by requiring filers to itemize payments made to credit card issuers or banks; and placing sanctions on political committees failing to make required filings with the Secretary of State’s Office.  Read More
