Nissan awards education grants to local schools in Mississippi

CANTON, Miss. (August 29, 2012) – Nissan North America, in conjunction with BankPlus, recently awarded educational grants totaling more than $77,000 to local schools in Mississippi. More than 100 teachers and administrators from Madison County and Canton public school districts were recognized at a special awards reception held Aug. 27 at the Nissan vehicle assembly plant in Canton, Miss. The program, administered by the Community Foundation of Greater Jackson, distributed 68 grants supporting classroom projects that will be conducted during the 2012-2013 school year in the two districts. Read More

Madison River Oaks Medical Center named Hospital of the Year

Madison, Miss.-Madison River Oaks Medical Center was named “Hospital of the Year” (100 beds or fewer) at the 11th Annual Nightingale Awards held March 5 in Jackson. This is the hospital’s first major recognition since opening in May 2011. The annual Nightingale Awards are sponsored by the Mississippi Nurses Association. Awards are given to individuals and facilities who have exhibited quality service, commitment, and excellence related to the field of nursing in the State of Mississippi.  Read More
