Dr. Don Burnham

James D. (Don) Burnham, Ph.D., Vice President of the Ridgeland Campus for Holmes Community College. Dr. Burnham is a native of Laurel, Mississippi. He received a Bachelor of Science in Forestry and Business Management from Mississippi State University in 1978. Dr. Burnham earned an M.B.A. from the University of Mississippi in 1985, and received his Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Mississippi in 2004.

Dr. Burnham began his career in quality control and held production management positions in an industrial setting until 2003. He joined Holmes Community College as a Business and Economics instructor in 2003 through January 2007 when he became the Director of Admissions and Records for the college. He was appointed Vice President of the Ridgeland Campus in June 2011. He is a member of the City of Ridgeland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Madison-Ridgeland Rotary Club, and the Education Committee for the Business League of Madison County. He is also chairman of the Education and Workforce Taskforce for the Madison County Strategic Plan, and an active member of the Gideons International.
