Ray Balentine

Immediate Past Chairman

Ray Balentine is a Vice President of Michael Baker International. Balentine leads Michael Baker’s operations for all of Mississippi and Alabama which includes 70 employees. Their practice areas include roadway and bridge design and construction, aviation, and architecture. He earned his BS in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University, with additional specialized study at the Traffic Institute of Northwestern University.

Balentine is a known advocate for the importance of transportation as it relates to economic development. He currently serves as the MCBL&F Transportation Committee Chairman, a role he has filled for the last 3 years. He has served as President of the Mississippi Transportation Institute and Chair of the Mississippi Intermodal Council. He continues to serve on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Water Resources Association and the Advisory Board for the Jackson State University School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Balentine and his wife, Cindy have lived in Madison County for over 20 years. They are actively involved with their church, the Chapel of the Cross, where he serves as a Licensed Lay Leader. They have 2 adult children, both of whom live in Madison County.
