The Madison County Economic Development Authority (MCEDA) and the Madison County Business League (MCBL) proudly announce 2013 Madison County Youth Leadership: Economic Development Day. The event will be held on March 26, 2013. Two (2) of the best and brightest juniors have been selected by their respective administrations to represent 12 of our public and private Madison County High Schools along with New Summit School in Jackson – twenty-four students in total.
The purpose of the event is to “inspire” and “expose” students to a variety of our leading businesses, successful businesspersons and career opportunities in Madison County. They will visit with manufacturers, engineers, healthcare providers, TV/movie producers, developers, banks, attorneys and a wireless company. Students representing our local colleges and universities will serve as mentors for the day.
MCBL members participating are Citizens Bank, Mad Genius, C Spire, Butler Snow, Madison River Oaks Medical Center, MSU Center for Vehicular Studies, and Nissan North America. Speakers include Bomgar Corporation CEO/Founder Joel Bomgar, and Innovate Mississippi CEO Tony Jeff.
Students chosen to participate in the program are Landon Wilson and Turner Crews, Canton Academy; Marderius Mann and Comelia Walker, Canton High School; Derek Marshall and Olivia Dear, Madison Central High School; Zachary Watters and Cathrine Jones, Germantown High School; Bailey Butler and Nicholas Cobb, Madison Ridgeland Academy; Beau Brawner and Lucy Woolverton, St. Andrew’s Episcopal School; Whitley Pannell and Sam Osborne, St. Joseph Catholic School; Brooke Martin and Chip Goza, Tri-County Academy; Amran Luckett and Orlandria Beamon,Velma Jackson High School; Hunter Ward and Maya Humphrey, New Summit School; Jessica Milner and Samuel Palmer, Ridgeland High School; Anna Coker and Robbie Pierce Nicholas, The Veritas School.
