2014 Government Relation and Education Committee August Luncheon

August LuncheonThe Madison County Business League Government Relations and Education Committees hosted a luncheon meeting on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, in the McGowan Center located on the Ridgeland campus of Holmes Community College. Attendees included MCBL members, elected officials, educators and guests. Government Relations Committee Chairman Phil Buffington introduced State Treasurer Lynn Fitch who presented her new TEAM initiative (Treasurer’s Education About Money). TEAM has partnered with EverFi and the Mississippi Council Economic Education to offer every public, private and parochial school across Mississippi the opportunity to teach students the importance of managing money. Several MCBL members sponsoring the program include Trustmark, Regions, Renasant Bank, AT&T, BankPlus and Community Bank!

Madison County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Ronnie McGehee gave a report on Madison County Schools and Education Committee Chairman Dr. Nancy New introduced the new Canton Public Schools Superintendent Ike Haynes.

The Madison County Business League CONGRATULATES Treasurer Fitch for her vision and to the MCBL TEAM Partners for their support and generosity! We proudly support all schools in Madison County and thank them for the tremendous job they are doing to provide quality education for our children.
