The Madison County Youth Leadership class attended Government
Day on Wednesday, February 28th. Representative Cory Wilson opened the day by addressing and engaging with the class during a breakfast hosted by Citizens
Bank.
Afterward, the group took a tour of the Mississippi Capital, where the students met seven of our Mississippi Legislators. They also visited with state
wide elected officials after being introduced in the senate and house chambers. Lunch was held at the Two Mississippi Museums and was sponsored by
Parkway Church. Pastor Jason Dillon joined them and encouraged the youth leaders to participate in their local government. The day ended with a tour
of the Governor’s Mansion. Governor Phil Bryant greeted the class before their tour. Overall the Madison County Youth Leadership students were given
a full introduction to our Mississippi Government.
