The project for the 2023 Madison County Executive Leadership Class was to research ways Madison County and Mississippi could make a deeper dive into addressing the “brain drain” challenge. The class sent surveys out to Madison County High School Seniors, Madison County Young Professionals, 2022 Executive Leadership Class, and the 2023 Executive Leadership Class asking questions such as: Why are young professionals leaving the state? Are they leaving with intentions to return? Is there anything that could have convinced them to stay? How many are leaving the state?
