On Monday, August 17th, members
of the Quality of Life Committee, Business League leaders, and business stakeholders presented to the Madison CountyBoard of Supervisors a request
for them to move forward with plans for a much needed Conference Center in Madison County.
The feasibility study done by Johnson Consulting was submitted to the Supervisors prior to the meeting for their review.A large number of Business League
members were in attendance and stood in support of the request.Testimonials were given for this needed facility by Wesley Goings (C Spire), Mark Garriga
(Butler Snow), Rodney Grogan (MMC), and Mary Beth Wilkinson ( Ridgeland Tourism).
Action from the Board of Supervisors is required for this project to move forward.
After discussions with some of the current Supervisors, incoming Supervisors, and County leaders, future planning on this project is on hold until January
2016.
