Madison County, Mississippi continues to emerge as a leading hub for technology and innovation with the latest expansion announcement from Amazon Web Services (AWS). The planned $11 billion expansion of AWS’s existing data center operations strengthens the county’s position at the forefront of digital infrastructure growth and advanced technology investment.
This project is part of Amazon’s broader $25 billion investment across the state of Mississippi, marking one of the most significant economic development initiatives in the region’s history.
This milestone reflects the strong collaboration between state and local partners, including the Madison County Economic Development Authority, Madison County Board of Supervisors, Entergy Mississippi, City of Ridgeland, and the Central Mississippi Planning and Development District, along with many others dedicated to driving long-term economic progress.
Mississippi-based companies are also playing an important role in supporting these transformative projects, further highlighting the strength of the state’s business ecosystem.

As Governor Tate Reeves noted, “Amazon isn’t just reinvesting in Mississippi — the company is once again betting on our people.”
