The Madison County Business League hosted its first event, a Fall Forum reception on Thursday, September 17 at the Jackson Yacht Club. More than 125 members, elected and appointed officials and guests attended the event.
Buck Covington, MCBL board member, welcomed guests and introduced local and county elected officials and representatives from the Jackson offices of the Mississippi delegation.
Covington and Executive Director Jan Collins acknowledged each of the charter members with a plaque in appreciation for their support of the MCBL mission, “One vision, one voice.”
Hu Meena, president and CEO of Cellular South, presented the keynote address. Cellular South provides wireless service to all of Mississippi and parts of four southeastern states. He gave a history of the company and introduced new internet technology available.
Entertainment for the evening was provided by Jimmy Jarratt, pianist.
