Coffee with the Senator: Thad Cochran

The Madison County Business League hosted a “Coffee with the Senator”
luncheon on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Country Club of Jackson with
special guest the Honorable Thad Cochran. 

400 MCBL members, elected and
appointed officials and guests attended. The colors were presented by the
112th Military Police Battalion out of Canton, MS. Samuel Cochran, Senator
Cochran’s grandson, led the pledge of allegiance to the American flag and
Pastor Ken Murphy, Pinelake Church offered the invocation. Derrick Burt
sang the national anthem a cappella and closed the meeting with a rousing
rendition of God Bless the USA. Governor Phil Bryant shared a message with
Senator Cochran and the Business League via video tape. Haley Fisackerly,
CEO and President of Entergy MS, Inc. introduced the senator. The topic of
Senator Cochran’s address was “Madison County – an environment that fosters
economic development.” 

A VIP reception with Senator Cochran was held immediately preceding the
luncheon for PLATINUM Sponsors, elected officials and special guests. The Raphael Semmes Ensemble provided music for the event.
