• Commerce Connector Road will provide access to interstate frontage property.
• This connector road ties together the other major federally funded road projects in the area. Lake Harbour Drive to Highland Colony Parkway, the almost complete County Line Road project that was funded through a BUILD Grant, and I-220 Bridge Widening.
• 1.6 mile long road.
• Opening up approximately 135 acres of property to be zoned Technical Industrial Park or Commercial. There is a potential to eventually add an additional 90 acres of property that is currently used as residential.
• 88 of the 135 acres is property owned by Tougaloo College. Their property was bisected by the construction of Interstate 220.
• Enhance connectivity to the existing 220 Technical Industrial Park and provide synergy to spur additional growth to join UPS.
• Collaborative Project supported by MCEDA, Tougaloo, and Ridgeland.
• Cost is anticipated to be approximately $20 Million.
• Has the bi-partisan support of Congressmen Bennie Thompson and Michael Guest and Senators Cindy-Hyde Smith and Roger Wicker. This will be a strong point when considering the next Transportation Bill.
