The Madison County Business League and the Madison County Economic Development Authority congratulate Michael D. Kent, Superintendent of Education of the Madison County School District.
Mike Kent began and will end his educational career in Madison County. During the past 10 years, he has navigated the Madison County School District through some of the most challenging years in its history – unprecedented growth in enrollment, final resolution of long standing desegregation issues, and a national economic downturn which has resulted in many difficult funding decisions.
He leaves the District with the school tax rate lower now than when he was elected in 2000. His legacy will be his excellent stewardship of the taxpayers’ dollar, which has positioned
the Madison County School District for success well into
the future.
“With Mike at the helm of our high performance school system it has become extremely difficult for other communities to compete against Madison County for jobs and investment.”
Tim Coursey, MCEDA Executive Director
