Madison County Business League & Foundation Director Jan Collins presents a check to North Madison County Excel By 5 Chairman Dr. Mary Sims Johnson.
The grant was awarded to the N. Madison County Excel By 5 by the Madison County Community Trust to assist with backpacks for their annual Back to School
event. Excel By 5 is a community-based certification designed to improve a child’s overall well-being by age five. The first-of-its-kind in the United
States, this program emphasizes the important roles communities play in educating their children during their most formative years–birth to five preparing
them for kindergarten. Realizing the importance of early education, the MCBL&F has collaborated with N. Madison County Excel By 5 since its organization
in 2010.
