Last week, I met with the Madison County Young Professionals to welcome them
to TEAM and thank them for their commitment to financial literacy in our schools.
The group is composed of young professionals, age 39 and under, who work for companies in the Madison County Business League and Foundation. They have
chosen to join the fight to break the cycle of poverty in Mississippi as a partner with my TEAM initiative.
Last week, they presented a check for $2,500 that will be used for teacher training by the Mississippi Council on Economic Education for Canton teachers
from Kindergarten to 12th grade. A study by Champlain College last year concluded that well-trained teachers are the key to a successful financial
education program.
