The Madison County Youth Leadership class had an incredible Government Day on Wednesday, February 19th. The class toured the Mississippi State Capitol, met with Madison County legislators and statewide elected officials, held a mock court session in the Supreme Courthouse, and toured the Madison County Detention Center. This experience gave them valuable insight into how our government and justice system operate daily.
We have truly enjoyed showcasing Madison County to these students and hope they have gained valuable leadership skills and inspiration for their future careers. One student summed it up perfectly: “This program has been so special to me, and I have loved all three days. It has helped me realize that I want to go to college and then come back to a job in Mississippi.”
