Madison County Youth Leadership: Lifestyles Day

Youth Leardship StudentsMadison County Youth Leadership: Lifestyles Day was held on Wednesday,
January 22, 2014. The class of 24 students representing each of the public,
private and parochial schools in Madison County plus New Summit School in
Jackson, started their day off with a breakfast at the C Spire Wireless
Corporate office in Ridgeland. College and university students from Tulane
University, Holmes Community College, Millsaps and Belhaven University
participated as mentors for the class. Guest speaker was Brad McMullan, CEO
& Founder of Buy From A Christian.com. MS Tobacco Free Coalition of Madison
Yazoo and Holmes Counties sponsored the breakfast.

The students visited the MS Crafts Museum, Baptist Health Systems – Madison
Campus, the Madison County Detention Center, and the Canton Movie Museum and
Soundstage. Community leaders from each of those businesses and locations
presented career information, job responsibilities. And motivational talks.
Lunch was sponsored by Medical Practice Solutions.

The purpose of the youth leadership program is to expose students to the
various career opportunities available in Madison County. It is sponsored by
the Madison County Business League and the Madison County Economic
Development Authority. Business League members comprise the volunteer
committee that organizes the events.
