Dear Friend,
Over the last week, our nation has endured troubling events. We witnessed the unjust killing of George Floyd in Minnesota. In response, we have seen great
American liberties in action as peaceful protesters exercised their First Amendment Rights. Unfortunately, we then have seen looters and domestic terrorist
organizations like Antifa use these peaceful protests as an opportunity to sow discord in our country and promote violence. However, America is resilient.
We will not flinch at signs of domestic terrorism and we have seen examples of that resiliency across our country. In the days following the riots,
we have seen Americans come together to rebuild and restore a sense of peace in their communities. We have seen our President take a firm stance to
restore order across our nation, and we have seen examples of the ideals that have made this country the greatest in history, such as the right to
free speech. We will continue to grow stronger as a country if we focus on what unites us and remember that we are all citizens of the greatest democracy
in the world. As your Congressman, I will fight to see that we never lose sight of the foundational principles of our nation.
COVID-19 Testing Sites and Resources
The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) and the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) will be operating drive-through testing sites
in the coming days. If you are showing symptoms of COVID-19 and are interested in being tested, please download the C Spire Health app or dial (601) 496-7200.
Saturday, June 6, is the final day that the C Spire Health app will be used as a screening tool for COVID-19 testing. After that, Mississippians can be
screened and scheduled for appointment-only testing by calling the UMMC Center for Telehealth at (601) 496-7200 or by going to umc.edu/covidscreening.

Unrest in America
Today, I spoke with Tony Perkins with the Family Research Council about the role Antifa is playing in the violence and destruction of property following
the protests organized after George Floyd’s tragic death. As a member of the Committee on Homeland Security, I take the threats posed by Antifa very
seriously. We are working to address this threat to ensure the safety of American lives as well as the protection of public, private, and religious

Telehealth Awards to Mississippi Entities
Several Mississippi healthcare institutions have been awarded funding from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) through its COVID-19 Telehealth
Program to support the use of telehealth to deliver care and treat patients during the coronavirus pandemic. This funding was provided by the Coronavirus
Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which Congress approved in March. The following are awards received by healthcare facilities in the
Third District of Mississippi:
- Franklin County Memorial Hospital, Meadville – $262,934
- Region 8 Mental Health Services, Brandon – $32,349
- University of Mississippi Medical Center/UMMC Consortium, Jackson – $1,000,000
- Southwest Mississippi Mental Health Complex, McComb – $659,092
I am proud of our state’s leadership in telemedicine and will continue to support policies that advance the use of these important technologies for our
state.
Support from the White House
In response to the coronavirus outbreak, we have seen tremendous support from our local, state, and federal agencies. President Trump and his administration
have provided much-needed supplies for Mississippi. Project Air Bridge has been successfully coordinated by the Trump Administration to provide Mississippi
with critical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needed to combat the coronavirus outbreak. Below, you can find more details about the assistance
Mississippi has received from President Trump.

Latest Statistics
As of Thursday, June 4th, 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that 1,842,101 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the United States. From Wednesday to Thursday, we saw 14,676 additional cases. The number of
individuals who have passed away as a result of infection increased by 827 nationwide, and the total number of deaths in the U.S. from the virus is
now 107,029. See below for graphs and infographics from the Mississippi State Department of Health on the number of cases in Mississippi. As reported
today, an additional 238 Mississippians have contracted the coronavirus, and 12 more Mississippians passed away from the virus. In total, 192,362 Mississippians
have been tested for COVID-19.
