Madison County Economic Development Authority Executive Director Joey Deason and Madison County Business League & Foundation Chairman Ray Balentine present the 2022 Vision award to David Sliger, Vice President, Manufacturing, Nissan North America – Canton.
The Madison County Economic Development Authority (MCEDA) and the Madison County Business League & Foundation (MCBL&F) created the VISION award in 2010 as a means of recognizing and thanking certain stand out Madison County businesses for their contributions to the community. By contributions we mean their unique or remarkable accomplishments, their investments in people and the resulting impact that their operations have on the local area economy.
The prestigious 2022 VISION Award was presented to Nissan North America – Canton. Nissan announced recently that the Canton manufacturing plant will play a key role in the electrification of Nissan’s US lineup with the production of two all-new, all-electric vehicles- one Nissan and one Infiniti model in 2025. The project is a $500 million investment and will upskill nearly 2,000 jobs at the Canton plant.
