Intermittent CLOSURES planned on I-55 north in Madison County
WHO: The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT).
WHAT: The intermittent closures of I-55 northbound have been postponed to next week due to rain in the forecast.
WHEN: The closures will take place in 30-minute intervals between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. for five nights, beginning Monday, June 23, until Friday, June 27. (UPDATED)
WHERE: The northbound lanes of I-55 at the SR 463 interchange in Madison.
WHY: Crews will hang beams for the new Reunion Parkway bridge over I-55 northbound during the closure intervals.
HOW: During the closure intervals, drivers should slow down, anticipate a stop in traffic and if necessary, seek an alternate route.Warning signs will be in place leading up to the work to alert motorists of the temporary closures.
